My favorite weather for a photo shoot is an overcast sky. Take away the sunshine or a bright sky, give me clouds, and keep the sun hidden. If you add a bit of rain or some fog for an added effect, it takes the photos to an interesting and unique level. By mid-October, the foliage was already shining along the Hudson River.
On October 13, I met a couple at Fort Tryon Park for an engagement shoot. We moved our session from Central Park to Fort Tryon when rain was in the forecast. The rain forced us to change our plans, but it turned out to be the best-case scenario. I knew that being outside would give us the best opportunity for the right scenery, but where could we get coverage from the rain in the parks? Billings Arcade was the solution because it would offer us coverage from the rain yet offer a magical setting. Fort Tryon is an NYC treasure. No need to travel far when this park can transport you to a new world.
